Pro Pride is dedicated to improving the well-being of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and families affected by HIV/AIDS through comprehensive, community-based programs. Since 2005, in partnership with Save the Children USA and USAID, the organization has implemented the PC3 program in Dire Dawa and six towns in East and West Hararge Zones, reaching over 27,000 children and their families with education, health, nutrition, psychosocial support, legal protection, life skills, and livelihood services. Building on this, Pro Pride also implemented the Yekokeb Berhan Program for Highly Vulnerable Children from 2012 to 2016 in six towns of West Gojjam Zone, reaching 15,272 children.
The program provided educational support, shelter, hygiene, health care, nutrition, psychosocial guidance, legal protection, and economic strengthening, including savings and microenterprise development. Strong community engagement and partnerships with health facilities, schools, government institutions, and NGOs ensured sustainable impact, enabling families to build resilience and long-term livelihoods while significantly improving the lives of highly vulnerable children.

Delivered multi-dimensional support including:
Engaged 19 local community organizations to take active roles in project implementation—laying the foundation for sustainability through local ownership and involvement.
Provided business training, matching funds, and organized families into savings and credit groups. This approach promoted financial resilience, improved household income, and supported long-term care for children.
Worked at household, community, regional, and national levels to ensure systems are in place for the protection and care of vulnerable children. Built partnerships with government and non-government actors to institutionalize child protection services.
